Please join the celebration on November 15th when Mitchell completes his 1000th Bikram Yoga class!!! TESTIMONIAL From 1985 to 2000, I was a stressed-out workaholic in New York City, largely ignoring the obvious of taking care of myself or taking care of business and family. At my yearly physical in October of 2000, I was a mess, with physical problems ranging from chronic lower back pain to gastro-intestinal issues, and a shattered left knee from a car accident that seemed destined for meds and surgery. When I made the move to Dallas, I was burned out, physically and emotionally, and finally ready to make a change. It is hard to believe that nearly four years later, due to this practice, physical problems that literally ran my every day are all but gone. In addition to the obvious physical rewards (did I mention I was a size 36 jeans in NYC and am now a size 33?!), Bikram reminds me to keep my tendency to become obsessive about work in check, ironically helping me work smarter by being more focused and less stressed, and therefore more effective. By taking care of myself, I provide for my family, not only by being healthy, but by being present. I appreciate the daily support
I receive from the giving teachers at Bikram Yoga Dallas, David, Karen
and Erin (who have continued a tradition of teachers at the studio of
a disciplined but caring attitude), and also the consistent inspiration
I get from other regular and new students. A special thanks to Samantha,
Steve, Laura, Lois, Christie, Jocelyn, Debbie, Marsha, and Carolyn (though
I never see you, I know you're there) and too many more to mention.
Your energy is a guiding force, and I welcome the continued journey. |
